Your patterns are why your relationships keep ending the same way.

Attraction, connection and communication in dating and relationships are shaped by patterns most people don’t realise they’re repeating. That’s why certain experiences can feel irrational, frustrating or difficult to explain.

This page is a starting point for exploring the psychology behind relationship patterns, emotional reactions, communication and the behaviours that shape your experiences.

You choose where you want to start.

Rather than focusing on surface-level advice, it examines how past experiences shape interpretations, behaviours, expectations and communication.

Dating and relationships aren’t easy. You might get told about ‘the birds and the bees’ but nobody ever sits you down to explain how it actually works. Instead we blindly try to figure it out ourselves – even though it defines so much of our lives and happiness.

This is the foundation of my work and the best place to begin if you want to understand why the same situations keep repeating despite insight, self-awareness or good intentions.

The Real Relationships Podcast is a space for honest conversations about dating, relationships and human behaviour.

Episodes include experts, authors and everyday people sharing perspectives, experiences and real stories about the realities of modern relationships.

Some conversations are practical. Some are psychological. Some simply explore the things people often think about privately but rarely talk about.

In a world where people are constantly comparing their relationships, experiences and lives to unrealistic expectations, different perspectives matter.

My YouTube channel explores relationship psychology through both short-form and long-form videos. Topics include breaking patterns, rewiring triggers, deepening emotional connection, constructive communication and the realities of modern relationships.

I don’t believe in scripts, tactics or performance-based advice, but in understanding the underlying patterns shaping dating and relationships – because they influence far more of our responses, decisions and experiences than most people realise.

These videos are designed to help you understand why dating and relationships may not be unfolding in the way you hoped or expected.

The blog is where I explore ideas, observations and relationship dynamics in writing. Some articles break down psychological patterns, some challenge common dating advice and some simply examine the realities of modern relationships in a more honest way.

Relationships affect so much of how people think, feel and behave, yet many experiences are reduced to clichés, trends or oversimplified advice. Writing creates the space to explore those experiences more thoughtfully and in greater detail.

Fancy a bit more relationship psychology in your inbox each week? Of course you do 😊

You’ll be the first to know when I share new articles, videos and podcast episodes, as well as the odd extra bit about dating, relationships and the things people often struggle to make sense of.

Some emails expand on ideas explored elsewhere, some challenge common assumptions and some simply look at situations from a different angle. Algorithms aren’t what they used to be, so email is probably the best way to make sure you actually see what I share.
